It was a whim of his son Thierry that, in the sixties, influenced Louis Chevenet to purchase a goat. The S.C.E.A.* of Baratte, run by the Chevenet family, now raises over 1700 milking goats.

We have become the European leaders of goat milk production. Our strength: uniting extensive breeding and traditional feeding methods with the most modern techniques of milk production.

This has enables us to obtain cheeses of excellent quality that have gained the popular vote of many restaurateurs.
